It is difficult to test for the purity or whether it was indeed wood pressed at home. Judgement can only be made on the basis of aroma, taste, color etc. I am extremely happy with the quality of black sesame oil by Anveshan, as it has right viscosity, which makes it not very sticky and no strong odour. I am willing to believe the claim of the manufacture here because I find this oil far superior to even some well known brands. I am giving all the stars so it encourages them to continue producing high quality products.
Go for it. Though it is costly, we are buying only for good health and to stay away from using chemically processed oils.

At first sight itself, one can easily find out the difference with the other brands out there.
How you ask? Well, the color itself is way darker than conventional sesame oils.
My guess is they’re probably extracted from black sesame seeds. Highly fragrant of sesame seeds and slightly, very slightly bitter taste. Worth the price, just only around 40-50 rupees costlier than normal wood pressed oils but one has to keep in kind that this one’s organic. Taste is very good. It is ideal for salad toppings, idli podi or even oil pulling. I take a table spoon of it every morning and I prefer this over the other refined sesame oils
So definitely worth it.
Overall good purchase, will restock again whenever it’s over.
