I was introduced to Avocado Oil through a friend’s recommendation, who had tried it before and stands by its many benefits. Being a heart patient myself, I decided to do a bit of research before purchasing the oil. And I found that Black and Green really hits the mark with their Avocado oil –
Here’s what you should look for before buying a bottle –
    1. If it’s cold pressed – that’s a very big indicator of the quality of the oil. Since no heat is used during the extraction, all the vital elements that I was looking for remain intact.
    2. Comes in a dark glass bottle – this prevents sunlight from making the oil go rancid.
    3. Mentions Extra Virgin on the bottle – meaning that no chemical process is used to extract the oil and the process is purely mechanical. To prove this, you can check the color of the oil, which should usually reflect the color of its source origin. In this case, Black and Green’s avocado oil is a rich and vibrant green.

It’s been about three weeks since the oil was delivered and I’ve got the chance to test it in several recipes. The oil remains true to what is stated on the label – it has a very high smoke point, and can be used to cook your daily meals. My wife has tried using it as part of the tadka for dal, to replace ghee, and the difference in taste is minimal. It held up pretty well under high heat without burning or smoking.

The taste of the oil is buttery and really reminded me of eating an avocado. It’s been used as part of the salad dressings ever since the oil was delivered. I’ve managed to use it with hummus too, replacing olive oil and it really tasted fantastic!

I’m certain I will see an improvement in my cholesterol readings over time if I keep using this oil. I would definitely recommend Black and Greens’s Avocado Oil to any one else suffering from heart diseases and are looking for alternate solutions without compromising on the quality and taste of their meals. My bottle is soon finishing and I’m looking forward to buying another!

Kudos to you Black and Green, and thanks for introducing this to the Indian market!

Due to its high burning point it can be used for paranthas as well. Better than virgin coconut oil and healthy

Avacado oil is a great oil source for a healthy heart. It’s a monosaturated fat and rich in vitamin E. you should consume it in moderation though. This one tastes good as well.

I was looking for a cooking oil which offers all the benefits with little or no side effects, promotes healthy cholesterol and at the same time avoid bad cholesterol. I am a type 2 diabetic. Due to my struggling levels of insulins as a side effect the fat levels were not getting managed well as I still love my paranthas in breakfast but traditional refined oil is cheap but in long term proves costly for your health. Most refined oils (cold pressed or Chemically refined) have high PUFA fats (simply put poor or bad fat) and harmful Omega 6 fatty acid. These oils though have some benefits if taken in moderation but eventually will make you go on fatty side and overweight or diabetic persons will have tough time managing cholesterol levels in blood. I struggled with high LDL (bad cholesterol) levels even in young age due to diabeties and BP issues. My Doc made me aware where my diet was going wrong and informed me about looking for cold pressed refined oil. I then did a lot of research and found that using the right oil can help fix cholesterol concerns and can promote healthy heart.

    Pro –

    – Has hight MUFA which is good fat.
    – has Omega 3 fatty acids which are vey good and good composition of Omega 6 to 9 ratio which doctors advice for any cooking oil.
    – it is cold pressed HAAS oil from NZ region which is known for quality imports and genuineness.
    – good for frying as it has very high burning point (300 degrees) thus making it perfect for deep frying as it does not kills the healthy fat and composition remain the same. The Virgin oilve oil though is equally good but doesn’t have the high burning point so you cannot use it for deep frying. The by products of olive which are marketed as “Olive oil” or “Olive Pomace Oil” can be used for frying but they loose all the good fats and deep fried food does not add any benefits as one might hope for. The Avacado oil is the only oil which works for deep frying without adding any bad fats.
    – good for people with diabetic.
    – taste is good like any other refined or cold compressed oil. I was not able to find any taste difference in prepared food which was biggest concern, what if I didn’t liked the taste but it was same like normal oil in taste and suitts Indian cooking.
    – can be used for salads like oilve oil.
    – aroma is very good.
    – not Chemically teated and it is pure EXTRA Virgin Avacado oil so no side effects on body.
    – can be used as hair oil as it has plenty of Vitamin E which promotes hair growth and good for skin.
    – packaging was tamper proof.

    Cons –

-price is very high but it is imported so it can be understood. But for most people it may remain out of reach even with all health benefits. 1 leter oil will cost roughly 2000 INR which is double the price of 5 leter refined oil container.
May be if price is lowered around 1200 per liter may help gain it more market. Even good quality extra virgin olive oil has less price for 1 liter.
    – the seller is not advertising the product benefits so may be people who can afford it are not aware of it ( In India). Wide popularity will help lower cost.
    – delivery time is 4-5 days since it is being shipped from Mumbai location warehouse so it may not get delivered on short notice so please order it in advance.

You only need 4 oils in your life and one of them is Avocado oil
A great product for cooking. No after taste and you can use it just like your other oil products. I’ve purchased many bottles since I first shopped for this product.
