Description

  • VERSATILE – Just add cream of tartar to egg whites or whipping cream to boost the strength of the individual air bubbles and slows down their natural tendency to deflate in baking. When adding cream of tartar to syrups, it prevents crystallisation
  • COOKING – Add a pinch of cream of tartar to boiling vegetables to help them retain their bright, fresh color. The cream of tartar reduces the pH of water thus helping in retaining the freshness of your veggies.
  • HEALTH BENEFITS – Add it to your keto diet to help relieve symptoms of low potassium. Cream of Tartar contains mild laxative properties, which can help in constipation. It can also eliminate nicotine from the body.
  • HOW TO USE – Ran out of baking powder? Make your own DIY baking powder by blending 2 teaspoon cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon each of baking soda and cornstarch.
  • CLEANING – Cream of tartar makes an effective non-toxic household cleaner all by itself or can be used in a 1:1 combination with vinegar. Cream of tartar acts by helping to remove the rust from your pots and pans.

The product seems to be good and working well for the purpose I bought it for. I am using it for baking, and have made a few flourless and gluten-free cakes which have turned out well. I haven’t consumed it as such, so can’t comment about the taste.

Cream of tartar is Potassium bitartrate. It’s a byproduct of whine making. Mix with baking soda to form your own aluminium free baking powder.

Another lesser known use is as a Potassium supplement. Mix 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar and 1/4 teaspoon rock salt like Himalayan pink or Celtic rock salt or black rock salt in 100 or 200 ml fresh orange juice or coconut water or half a lemon squeezed in 100/200 ml water. Take it away from food (half an hour before or 1.5 hours after food). Start with one drink a day. After 2 or 3 weeks increase dosage to 2 drinks a day. Go easy. Don’t over do it. Take this cocktail whenever you feel tired or exhausted. This is a good source of potassium (165mg) and many trace minerals.

Sattvic always delivers quality. Sattvic is a good source for natural and wholesome food products.

I am using Cream of Tartar to increase my daily potassium intake as i am on a ketogenic diet.
It is very difficult to meet 4700mg daily requirement of potassium per day. Hence i consume around 10gms of Cream of Tartar powder with water.
Per 100gms of Cream of Tartar contains 16500mg of potassium.

It comes in plastic jar which is good option for storing.

Alternatively, you can also use it with baking soda to produce baking powder like effect.

The Expiry date is 3 years from date of packaging.

I wish seller could reduce the cost to around Rs. 100 per bottle.
